I Found Some Pictures of one of the Ships Dad was on...The "MV Day Star"!
These pictures were taken by a pharmacist...Stanley R. Lauborough who served onboard the MS Day Star from 1942 - 1946. I found them while researching the ships history. I am sure he knew dad. You will notice that on Dad's Equator crossover certificate it calls it both the MV Day Star and the MS Day Star...so both must be correct. MV meaning Merchant Vessel and MS meaning Merchant Ship. This was a Troopship that was a Danish Ship called the "Laura maersk" but the name was changed and taken over to be used by the Armed Guards during the war to transport soldiers all over the South Pacific.
